We may think that we should get our lives in order BEFORE we invite Jesus to come in. But, the truth is, we will never get our hearts right UNTIL we let Him in. He is the only one who can take our messed up hearts and minds, and begin to transform them into clean, sound hearts and minds.
As Christians, we can do a lot of “good” and “spiritual” things, and we can expend a lot of energy doing them. But, if our “good” deeds do not proceed from a motive of love, they are worthless.

We have this promise from Jesus, that He has a place prepared for each of us who have put our faith in Him. That place is in our Father’s house, where we will all someday live together as a family.
Making the decision to put your faith in Jesus and enter into new birth in Him is only the beginning of the wonderful plan God has for you.
A penguin would be quite sad and frustrated if he tried to use his wings to fly like other birds. But a penguin in the water is quite content because there he can use his wings to swim gracefully. Likewise, we will not find contentment and joy until we stop comparing ourselves to others, and instead, inquire of the Lord as to the place he has for us in his plan.
Like the auto collector and restorer in the cartoon, Jesus sees great value in people – even people with broken, damaged lives – so much so that He paid a high price to buy them back from Satan: His life. Jesus can heal and restore the life of anyone who puts their faith and trust in Him.
