What are Joyful ‘toons?

Joyful ‘toons are cartoons that are based on verses from the Bible. Each cartoon consists of a verse  and a cartoon illustration. It is my prayer that they be used to exhort and encourage Christians in their walk with the Lord, and also that they be used to reach out to those who don’t know Jesus as Lord and savior.

Who may use Joyful ‘toons?

Joyful ‘toons may be used by any church or Christian organization. They may also be used by individuals in their own personal ministries. Please send me an email to let me know who you are and how you are using the cartoons. They may not be used by commercial organizations or businesses without permission.

What is the cost to use Joyful ‘toons?

Joyful ‘toons may be used free of charge by any church or Christian ministry. I only ask that you send me an email letting me know who you are, and how you are using the cartoons. Donations are accepted and greatly appreciated, and can be made via the PayPal.

How can Joyful ‘toons be used?

Joyful ‘toons can be added to your church bulletins or newsletters. They are designed to fit into a 5 1/2″ by 4 1/4″ space, half of a ususal church bulletin page, but you may resize them to fit your needs. You might add one to a church produced tract. You can add some cartoons to your church web site. Or use them in a slide presentation, send them in an email, add them to your Facebook, Twitter or other social media. You may come up with your own ways to use Joyful ‘toons.

Are there any restrictions to how Joyful ‘toons can be used?

Yes, listed below are my rules for using Joyful ‘toons.

  • You may not alter or change in any way any image on this site without my express written consent.
  • You may use and publish the cartoons for any church or Christian ministry use, but the material may not be used for the following purposes:
        1. You may not charge for, resell, market or distribute the material in any form other than in free church publications without my permission.
        2. The material may not be used in any manner which is scandalous, sacrilegious, or immoral.
        3. In no event may the material be used for a commercial purpose without my express written consent.
  • Any distribution of material found on this site must contain the copyright notice which is a part of each cartoon image.

How do I download the jpg files from the website?

To download an image file from the website, first click on the thumbnail image to bring up the full size image. For PC users, right click on the image to bring up a menu. For Mac users, hold down the control key and click on the image to see the menu. One of the selections on the menu will say “Save Picture As” or “Save Image As”. Select this menu option to bring up the “Save As” window. Here you can save the image by the name I have given it, or rename it. You also can choose where on your computer’s hard drive you want to save the image. Then click the button that says “Save” (in some browsers it says “Open”). You can then insert the image into your bulletin, newsletter, etc. with whatever publishing software you are using. Another option would be to select “Copy” or “Copy Image” from the menu, the paste the image into your document. The jpg files should be suitable for most desktop printing applications. They can be used for color or black & white printing. The jpgs are 500 pixels wide at 72 ppi.

How can I get high resolution image files ?

If you require high resolution image files, send me a request via email, and I will get them to you. I can provide you with high resolution tif and/or pdf files. The tif and pdf files are at 300 ppi, suitable for commercial printing.

What versions of the Bible do you use?

All of the Bible verses used in the cartoons are from either the New International Version or the King James Version.

Are the cartoons available in other languages?

With the generous help of many of my readers, a number of the cartoons have been translated into languages other than English. There are separate web pages for Spanish and Portuguese cartoons. Some of the other languages that the cartoons have been translated into include: French, Indonesian, German, Dutch, Arabic, Afrikaans, Italian, Slovenian, Malayalam, Telugu, and Zolai. If you are interested in receiving any of these cartoons for use in your church or Christian organization, please send me an email.
