Cartoonist's Comment: Just as Benjamin Franklin's kite made a connection to a great source of power when it was struck by lightning, so we too can make a connection to the source of all power in heaven and earth when we send our prayers up to God. |

Cartoonist's Comment: As the verse says, the devil is "seeking whom he may devour". We must be alert and on guard against his devices, armed with faith and the Word of God. |

Cartoonist's Comment: What are some of the weights that can hinder us in our Christian walk? I've listed some in the cartoon: worries, grudges, guilt, shame, distractions. These are some of the things we need to free ourselves from in order to do God's will more effectively.

Cartoonist's Comment: A camel can endure the hardships of the desert because it has water stored in its hump. In the same way we can endure the hardships of life, if we take time to store God's Word in our hearts. |

Cartoonist's Comment: Here is the verse in context. It is quite a promise from God's Word. If you make the Most High your dwelling—even the LORD, who is my refuge- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. – Psalm 91: 9-12 NIV |
